Presenting SDG data visually to enable climate resilient regions

ARSINOE has developed and released a knowledge graph that enables users to track SDG targets as well as national and regional indicators in one holistic approach.

Having demonstrated its functionality, it is now being further developed for easy access by scientists and policy makers.

Supporting decarbonisation through local SECAPs and SDGs

Project LOCALISED introduced a set of potential indicators for assessing risks and vulnerabilities to Climate Change within both Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) frameworks at once.

This output will save time and effort for users, support monitoring for assessment and enable standardisation for benchmarking and comparison.

Climate change information and mitigation services platform

CityCLIM has achieved major technological strides to provide near real-time extreme weather forecast warnings and to produce impact maps of mitigation scenarios.

The progress made so far means the project is on track to produce its City Climate Services for city administrators and citizens.

Merging arts and science to increase public engagement

The WaterLANDS project took action enabling art to be an integral part of their core objectives of wetland restoration. The call for artists exceeded expectations and resulted in a high level of engagement.

The learnings from this  success story demonstrate a need for similar collaborations to help raise awareness of other projects.

Transformative changes for large-scale forest restoration

The SUPERB project restored the native beech forests, converted monoculture spruce forests and created space for natural regeneration and planting of saplings.

A gradual approach to changing the composition of tree species in this way guarantees forest cover and habitats for many species.

Combatting forest fires through technological innovation

Through the successful implementation of its two pilot sites and technology demonstrations, SILVANUS has not only collected valuable data for its platform to combat forest fires, but it has also raised awareness of its activities through a concerted promotional campaign.

Developing a revolutionary smart grid data management system

In a research pilot, the HYPERGRYD project demonstrated a revolutionary data collection strategy using  internet of things (IoT), to greatly enhance the availability of smart grid data throughout the energy system.

The learnings from this approach can be implemented in other data-intensive integrated networks of smart energy districts.
