As the global population continues to grow and climate change impacts become more significant, the importance of innovation in food systems, reducing pollution, and promoting a healthy environment is critical.

The Food and health working group comprises 15 projects from four different Green Deal Calls. The working group projects focus on reshaping the food and health sectors to better support the green transition.

As part of the working group, the projects will investigate innovative ways to:
•    Reduce chemical and industrial pollution
•    Develop circular value chains in the agri-food sector
•    Use science to meet the unmatched demands of the food and health sector
•    Promote innovative practices that support the Farm to Fork strategy

Health initiatives at a glance

Six projects are focusing on reshaping the health sector to better support the green transition. These projects are creating solutions using cutting edge technology to grow our knowledge about unwanted chemicals and contaminants in our environment and how they affect us.
