Tackling air pollution with citizen science

The COMPAIR project is pioneering community-driven air quality improvement by leveraging citizen science across multiple cities to monitor and mitigate air pollution.

Through engaging educational programs, policy-ready data, and sustainable mobility solutions, COMPAIR is fostering a collaborative environment for cleaner, healthier urban living.

High efficiency conversion of biomass waste to energy

Bio-FlexGen pioneers a revolutionary approach in renewable energy, employing advanced CHP technology and digital optimisation to convert biomass residues into multiple energy outputs, achieving a high efficiency of 55% and 25MWe capacity.

Empowering sustainable energy practices

AURORA uses technology and community engagement to combat climate change and promote sustainable energy by means of featuring the AURORA Energy Tracker App which allows individuals to monitor and reduce their carbon footprint and the Aarhus Energy Community which empowers citizens to invest in solar energy.

The project's success lies in initiatives such as these which emphasise user involvement and open-source solutions for replicability.

Shaping the green ports of the future

EU-funded activities such as PIONEERS provide huge opportunities to support technological enterprises (e.g., the joint venture Antwerp Terminal Services), in developing highly innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions in the port sector.

Ultimately projects such as these aim to transform ports into green infrastructures and energy hubs by 2050.

Shifting to sustainable food systems in schools across Europe

In this success story the project brings different stakeholders together in-person to increase awareness of a whole school food approach, resulting in informed healthier choices for young people as well as contributing to the sustainability of schools.

Reducing food loss and waste with innovative solutions

SISTERS aims to design, implement and promote innovative strategies to systemically reduce food loss & waste.

In this success story, the project has developed the first version of an app that encourages farmers and other food producers to develop short  distribution channels  to meet that objective.

Improving animal health with eco-healthy solutions

In this success story NeoGIANT is developing innovative sustainable alternatives using grape marc to protect food production in the future.

Given the increasingly uncertain environmental conditions and Europe’s move towards sustainable production and consumption this project contributes to developing circular value chains in the global agri-food sector.

Unlocking the hidden value of agrifood sector residues

In this success story the Agro2Circular project is accelerating the upcycling of agri-food wastes through innovative ways to increase their value.

The process and products will be completely traceable through an innovative ICT platform that functions as a predictive tool for supporting decisions.

Demonstrating solar-powered electric mobility for mototaxis

ENERGICA aims to demonstrate the efficient implementation of renewable energy technologies to match local contexts’ needs.

In this success story the project demonstrates the implementation of Africa’s first electric service station, offering a holistic and hassle-free riding experience to electric motorcycle users.

Revolutionising renewable energy supply

Biomass and hydrogen are essential for Europe's transition to clean energy. Bio-FlexGen is focusing on ensuring that this transition is part of a circular approach in the use of biomass and hydrogen.

The project is making a real difference – those working on it are seeing how their input is contributing to a faster energy transition and therefore a better future.
