The ongoing green and digital transitions are opening up new opportunities for people and the EU economy and industry. In that context, skills are central for building a resilient and competitive work force, and for mastering the twin transition. This was notably reflected in the Green Deal Industrial Plan for the Net-Zero Age presented by the European Commission on 1 February 2023 and which sets skills as one of the four pillars of the Green Deal Industrial Plan. To give a fresh impetus to lifelong learning, the European Commission also announced 2023 as the European Year of Skills.

In that context, the webinar provides a space to foster synergies between actors from the Green Call Deal (GDC) projects who are developing technological solutions in key industrial ecosystems (such as renewable energy, construction, energy intensive industries) and actors from the Pact for Skills partnerships who are working on supporting the upskilling and reskilling of workers in those ecosystems.

This webinar discusses skills needs and barriers/challenges on how to reskill workers in key industrial sectors so they can thrive through the green and digital transitions.
