zeropm report 2224410987

ZeroPM members have responded to the European Commission's Water Resilience Strategy, endorsing the Environment Committee’s (ENVI) draft report emphasizing the need to address pollution alongside water efficiency. They support calls for EU-wide PFAS quality standards in groundwater and surface water, better monitoring of pesticide and pharmaceutical pollution, and stronger implementation and enforcement.

Additionally, ZeroPM advocates for a dedicated water resilience fund in the next multi-annual financial framework and a broader application of the cost recovery principle. The group highlights that water resilience is deeply tied to pollution, climate change, and ecosystem degradation, underscoring the need for clean, affordable water and a competitive, circular water economy in the EU.
