Description

Support is available for investments that give fishery and aquaculture products increased quality and added value through direct sales, increased processing of own catch or harvest, increased processing that includes by-products from own production stages, and increased processing that specifically includes by-catch from fishing and diversification of ordinary operations.

Objectives:

The call falls under the objective “Promoting economically, socially and environmentally sustainable fishing” of the Swedish EMFAF programme for 2021-2027

The purpose of the call is to improve products from fishing and aquaculture to increase profitability. Through processing or diversification, both the quality and the added value of the products can increase. The increased interest in small-scale food processing and locally rooted products is considered to offer a growth market for fishery and aquaculture products.

Eligible applicants:

Those who have an aquaculture company or are a professional fisherman and whose main activity is aquaculture or fishing

Budget:

  • The aid is 80% of the eligible costs if the beneficiary is a small-scale coastal fisherman. To count as a small-scale inshore fisherman, your boat must be shorter than 12 meters and you must not use towed gear. You must fulfill these conditions from the time you have submitted your application until you have received all of your support. Fishermen who fish without a vessel are also counted as small-scale coastal fishermen. Which towing equipment you may not use is stated in Article 2.1 of EU Regulation (EC) No. 1967/2006.
  • If the beneficiary is not a small-scale coastal fisherman, the aid is 40% of the eligible costs.

You can receive a maximum of SEK 1,000,000 in support per application. You cannot receive support for investments on board or efforts related to aquaponics.

Duration:

The end date of investment cannot be more than 3 years after the granting of funding decision date.
