Description
The RHE-MEDiation project aims to support long-term governance under the Mission Ocean and Waters to reduce chemical pollution in the Mediterranean Sea. It will test and validate a micro-algae-based remediation technology for removing heavy metals, pesticides, and PFAS from water and wastewater treatment systems. The project also integrates mobile and fixed sensing systems to detect and measure chemical pollutants in land and marine waters, with data fed into the EMODnet platform to contribute to the Digital Twin of the Ocean.
The project’s call for Associated Regions is open for submissions from 31 March 2025 to 31 May 2025. Up to 5 replication projects will be funded with up to EUR 100 000 per project. Successful applicants will also receive 9 months of technical assistance.
Objectives:
This call is under Work Package 5 of the project: development of replication activities and solution implementation roadmap. Applicants will be invited to propose a replication site, with similar characteristics to the ones included in the RHE-MEDiation project, where assessing the replicability potential of the RHE-MEDiation technologies will be carried out.
Eligible applicants:
Eligible beneficiaries are local and/or regional organisations (public entities) established in an EU Member State, EU Overseas Countries and Territories or Associated Countries. Applicants cannot be based in any of the countries of the RHE-MEDiation Consortium (Italy, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey).
Interested parties are invited to read the open call guidelines.
Budget:
Successful applicants will receive financial support of up to EUR 100 000 and technical support over nine months.
Duration:
Contracting with successful projects is expected to be done on 31 August 2025, and project implementation will run from September 2025 to May 2026.
