Description
ProBleu aims to boost Ocean and Water Literacy beyond the classroom. The project delivers this by supporting the Network of European Blue Schools and connecting schools with key scientific disciplines for sustainable and equitable exploitation of ocean and water resources.
Objectives:
ProBleu’s third call for schools will allow schools to take the lead in teaching schoolchildren about protecting oceans and waters. Projects should promote engagement in Blue Sustainability topics, foster collaboration with other stakeholders, seek partnerships with other schools, and ensure equal opportunities for all participants.
ProBleu will offer support for exciting ocean/marine projects and freshwater projects, and each project must fall into either Lot 1: Ocean/marine projects, or Lot 2: Freshwater projects. Further details are provided in the call for proposal document.
Eligible applicants:
Primary and secondary-level schools in the EU-27 Member States and third countries associated with Horizon Europe. Collaboration with other stakeholders inside and outside the school community (e.g. parents, researchers, NGOs, visitor centres, maritime companies, the wider community) is also encouraged. Further information on eligibility can be found in the call for proposal document.
Budget:
The grant is a lump sum for a project in one of the following categories.
Small-scale project: up to EUR 2 500
Medium-scale project: up to EUR 5 000
Large-scale project: up to EUR 10 000
Further information on maximum available funding for specific countries is in the call for proposal document.
Duration:
The maximum duration of each project from each school is 12 months and the minimum duration is 3 months. Projects will start from the 3rd of February 2025 and concluded no later than 31st of January 2026.
