Following the success of the Call for Technical Assistance in spring, where 20 projects across 11 Member States were selected to receive support, Mission Ocean and Waters is launching the second cycle of Call for Expressions of Interest. The second cycle aims to continue supporting ports, islands, and fisheries communities, strengthening their leadership in building a sustainable future.
Projects focused on protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems, enhancing biodiversity, combating ocean pollution, and advancing the sustainable blue economy towards carbon neutrality and circularity are invited to apply. The selected projects will benefit from tailored technical assistance and feasibility studies designed to match their needs, capacity, and interests.
As with the first cycle, projects must be implemented within one of the Mission Ocean and Waters lighthouses basins, which include the Atlantic and Arctic basins, the Baltic and North Sea basins, the Mediterranean Sea basin, and the Danube River basin.
The successful projects will receive tailored-expert support across key dimensions, including regulatory, technical, economic, operational, environmental, and commercial feasibility. The provided feasibility studies will assess the overall viability of the projects and offer recommendations to enhance the success of selected actions.
