Description
The call seeks to promote increased competitiveness and viability of fishing companies through investments in fishing vessels aimed at improving hygiene, health, safety, and working conditions of fishermen, enhancing the value and quality of fishery products, fostering digitalisation processes in the activity, improving energy efficiency, mitigating the effects of climate change, and reducing the impact of fishing on the marine environment.
Objectives:
- Promote sustainable fishing and the restoration and conservation of aquatic biological resources.
- Strengthen sustainable fishing activities from economic, social, and environmental perspectives.
- Increase energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions by replacing or modernising fishing vessel engines.
Eligible applicants:
- Associations, cooperatives, and producer organisations in the sector
- Public entities from central direct or indirect administration, with roles and responsibilities in the administration of the fisheries sector
- Other collective organisations, public or private, nonprofit, engaged in interventions relevant to the sector, particularly in scientific, environmental protection, or professional training areas, acting with the active support of fishing professionals or their associations
- Local authorities, provided they act with the active support of fishing professionals or their associations.
Budget:
The indicative fund allocation for this call is EUR 6 100 000.
The EMFAF contribution rate is set at the maximum regulatory level of 70% of the total budget. Refer to the project notice for more details.
