New Mission Ocean and Waters projects

Snorkeling

Exciting news! 26 new projects from 37 countries have been added to the Mission Ocean and Waters.

The European Commission has recently announced 26 new projects funded under the Mission Ocean and Waters call, across its major EU seas and river basins: the Baltic and North Sea, the Danube River and Black Sea, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.

These new projects will have a positive impact on our ocean and waters and the communities that depend on their health. The projects will provide different solutions tailored to specific regions, such as the sustainable management of sediments in the Danube, the protection and restoration of biodiversity in the Atlantic and Arctic Sea basins or combating water and soil pollution in and around the Mediterranean. New projects will support the integration of the Digital Twin Ocean, address climate change and human activities’ threats to marine biodiversity, engage citizens with the ocean and many other objectives.

The projects were selected following the calls for proposals launched in 2023 and a peer evaluation by independent experts. You can find the full list of new projects here
