Description

The LIFE sub-programme of Circular Economy and Quality of Life aims to facilitate the transition toward a sustainable, circular, toxic-free, energy-efficient and climate-resilient economy and toward a toxic-free environment as well as to protect, restore and improve the quality of the environment. The objective of this sub-programme is to support EU environmental policy and legislation through innovative, techniques methods and approaches, improvements in governance, and through catalysing the large-scale deployment of successful technical and policy-related solutions. 

 

Objectives: 

Proposals for Standard Action Projects can cover the following topics: 

  • Circular economy and waste 
  • Air 
  • Water 
  • Soil 
  • Noise 
  • Chemicals 
  • A new European Bauhaus 

A maximum of two sub-topics will be considered per proposal.  

 

Topics and their sub-topics under this sub-programme that are relevant to the Mission Ocean and Waters objectives are the following: 

  • circular economy and waste 
  • recovery of resources from waste 
  • circular economy and the environment 
  • water 
  • water quality and quantity 
  • marine and coastal water management 

Eligible applicants: 

In order to be eligible, the applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must: 

  • be legal entities (public or private bodies) 
  • be established in one of the eligible countries (i.e. EU Member States including overseas territories and countries, Iceland, Moldova, North Macedonia, Ukraine). 
  • The coordinator must be established in an eligible country.  

Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register.  

Budget: 

Total sub-programme budget of EUR 73 million. 

Duration: 

Between 24 and 120 months indicatively (extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment).

National Contact Points: Get in touch with your national contact point (NCP) for the LIFE programme.
