Description of the funding initiative
This programme will continue Greek-Cypriot cooperation with mutual acquisition of knowledge and skills, aiming to create a strong cross-border culture of cooperation. It will reduce the exogenous factors that contribute to biodiversity loss, the energy crisis and climate change, promote socio-economic development through the strengthening of culture, tourism and the social economy as well as actions to ensure accessibility to all population groups, especially the most vulnerable. Priority Axes and Specific Objectives for the 2021-2027 period include:
- Priority 1: a greener, low-carbon Europe
- Promotion of energy efficiency measures and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
- Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches.
- Strengthen the protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution.
- Priority 2: a more social Europe
- Promoting the socio-economic inclusion of marginalized communities, low-income households and disadvantaged groups, including people with special needs, through integrated actions that include housing and social services.
- Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.
- Priority 3: A Europe closer to citizens
- Protection and economic and social integration of third country nationals
Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants
For the Natural and Cultural Environment priority, University and Research Institutions, NPDD, NPID, Regional Authorities, Local Government Bodies, Ministries/Government Departments.
Eligible areas in Greece are Lesvos, Limnos, Ikaria, Samos, Chios, Kalymnos, Karpathos – Heroic Island Kasos, Kos, Rhodes, Andros, Thira, Kea, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Syros, Tinos, Heraklion, Lasithi, Rethymno, and Chania.
Rules on co-financing
The co-financing rate is 80%.
Procedures to submit proposal
The submission of funding requests in the context of the call for proposal is made exclusively electronically through the Integrated Information System, at the following address: https://logon.ops.gr. An approved user account is required to enter the system.
