This call is intended to support one large-scale, transnational project across the Atlantic regions, covering France, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain.

Objectives:

The “Lighthouse Atlantic Area Governance Project” will be an umbrella project with the objectives of enhancing governance and coordination; strengthening communication and knowledge transfer; and has a focus on environmental topics. Key topics include but are not limited to integrating digital technologies to boost the efficiency and sustainability of the blue economy, strengthening circular economy capacities, promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy—particularly in marine and maritime sectors—and advancing the protection and preservation of nature and biodiversity.

Expected outputs and results for this “Lighthouse Atlantic Area Governance Project” are summarised in the call for proposal document.

Other relevant call documents are in the Interreg AA second call for projects page.

Eligible applicants:

The project will involve a consortium of 10 to 15 partners from the four eligible countries in the Atlantic Area. The partnership must include full partners (ERDF beneficiaries) and associated partners who have proven capacity on specific areas. Profit-making private partners will not be allowed to participate in this call. See the call for proposal document for more details.

If you are looking for partners, visit the Atlantic Connection Hub. To apply, access the SIGI Platform.

Budget:

The indicative financial allocation for this call for proposals is around EUR 3,75 million, and EUR 5 million in total (Interreg funds and national co-financing).

Duration:

The project is programmed for a five-year duration. Expected project start date is the first half of 2025, and expected project end date is 30 June 2029.
