Description of the funding initiative
The ERDF 2021-2027 Programme of the Flanders Region focuses on three priorities:
- A more competitive and smarter Europe by promoting innovative and smart economic transformation and regional ICT connectivity.
- A more sustainable and climate-neutral Flanders.
- Sustainable multimodal urban mobility
The second priority has links to Mission Ocean objectives via two objectives related to energy efficiency and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the promotion of renewable energy.
Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants
Applicants need to be registered/domiciled in the Flanders Region and must respect the European rules on state aid. Eligible applicants include regional, provincial and local governments, knowledge institutions (SOCs, universities & colleges, etc.), small to medium enterprises, intermediary organisations (including innovation centres, development companies, spearhead clusters, etc.), non-profit organisations and public-private partnerships.
Rules on co-financing
Co-financing rate is project specific. Please refer to the list of approved projects (https://www.vlaio.be/nl/media/2316) and individual calls for proposals.
Procedures to submit proposal
Project calls are announced via the VLAIO website and the VLAIO newsletter. Provincial and metropolitan contact points also provide a number of targeted communication actions to eligible applicants. Consult the guides and templates for more details.
