Description
CLIMAREST is exploring the potential of restoration action in different coastal areas in the Atlantic-Arctic, from Svalbard to Madeira. The project is taking a holistic, transdisciplinary and bottom-up approach to develop a suit of approaches to develop technological, logistical, social, and economic innovations for the restoration of marine ecosystems. The project will provide a template for more efficient and effective restoration of degraded coastal habitats from the Arctic to the Atlantic.
CLIMAREST has opened the call for Associated Regions for the Arctic replication site only.
Objectives:
Third parties from the Associated Regions are expected to take part in the preparation of replication blueprints and business roadmaps for replication in their region based on the experiences in the CLIMAREST demonstration cases. The replication projects will follow the work in CLIMAREST by attending relevant meetings and workshops, in addition to engaging with stakeholders in their area and contributing to piloting CLIMAREST-developed tools.
The call is for one project to replicate the solutions for mitigation of coastal erosion and wastewater pollution developed in the CLIMAREST Arctic oligotrophic coastal demonstration area (Svalbard).
Eligible applicants:
Local and/or regional organizations from Member States, overseas and associated countries to the Horizon Europe Programme. Projects led by local and/or regional authorities will be prioritized, and in any case, projects must include a local/regional authority. ONLY applications from the following countries will be accepted for consideration: Estonia, The Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and The United Kingdom.
Budget:
An Associated Region can apply for up to EUR 80 000 in grants.
Duration:
The Arctic replication site project is for the demonstration period 2024 to 2025 and after project end.
