Description
CLIMAREST is exploring the potential of restoration action in different coastal areas in the Atlantic-Arctic, from Svalbard to Madeira. The project is taking a holistic, transdisciplinary and bottom-up approach to develop a suit of approaches to develop technological, logistical, social, and economic innovations for the restoration of marine ecosystems. The project is paying particular attention to the most fragile and vulnerable habitat types, such as Arctic oligotrophic coastal areas, seagrass meadows, shallow-water rocky bottoms, oyster reefs, and soft bed benthic habitats. The project will provide a template for more efficient and effective restoration of degraded coastal habitats from the Arctic to the Atlantic.
CLIMAREST will re-open the call for Associated Regions for the Arctic Demonstration site only.
Objectives:
The objective of this forthcoming call is to facilitate the replication of demonstrated technologies and tools for marine restoration in the Arctic Demonstration site.
