Description
The objective of the BioProtect project is to co-develop and demonstrate ecosystem-based solutions that enhance the restoration of biodiversity in marine and coastal ecosystems, thereby strengthening climate resilience of such ecosystems.
Objectives:
BioProtect is seeking five Associated Regions, who will be paired with a project demonstration site. Associated Regions will work with BioProtect Partners to improve tools to protect and restore biodiversity and provide feedback to refine and strengthen these tools. Associated Regions will also receive training and gain access to technical assistance for developing roadmaps, plans, projects, and other resources to bridge knowledge and skills gaps.
Associated Regions are expected to provide feedback to improve BioProtect tools, to collaborate on enhancing solutions for broader application, and to engage relevant local stakeholders to co-evaluate the success of the solutions.
Eligible applicants:
Local and/or regional authorities from Member States, overseas and associated countries to the Horizon Europe Programme.
Applicants from the following countries where a BioProtect project partner is located are ineligible for this call: Greece, Portugal, Germany, Ireland, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Norway.
See details on who can apply in the BioProtect call for Associated Regions page.
Budget:
An Associated Region can apply for up to EUR 100 000 in grants.
Duration:
Grants will be awarded on 30 April 2025. Projects are expected to start on 01 May 2025 and end on 30 April 2027.
