Description

SHORE open calls aim to enhance the ocean literacy of primary and secondary students, educators and schools. This is achieved through the empowerment of youth to become eco-citizens and agents of change. The SHORE project covers five distinct regional areas: the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Rhine River and the Danube river. 

The SHORE second open call for grants for schools will open on the 18th of September 2024 and run until the 20th of November 2024.  

Objectives: 

SHORE open calls have the following objectives: 

  • Involve and mobilise students, teachers, and community members in the school and local area to jointly design, develop, and implement projects that enhance and broaden youth's understanding of ocean and water topics for lifelong learning. 
  • Assist educators in creating and using new and innovative resources for learning and teaching, based on Open Schooling methodologies and Blue Skills Curricula. 
  • Support schools and their projects in obtaining accreditation in the Network of European Blue Schools, established under the EU4Ocean Coalition.  
  • Help achieve the Mission Ocean and Waters objectives at an EU-level through tangible solutions for climate neutrality, nature preservation and the restoration of ocean and water health
