Description

This study explores the integration of remote sensing for estimating oil spill risk to seabirds in the eastern North Atlantic Ocean. It reviews the potential of remote sensing for conservation and biodiversity studies, emphasising the need for collaboration across disciplines. The study focuses on two general approaches: direct remote sensing of seabirds and indirect remote sensing using environmental parameters as proxies. The sections cover direct and indirect remote sensing of both seabirds and oil spills, aiming to estimate seabird distribution at sea, where they are vulnerable to oil spills.
