Description of the funding initiative
The Save Our Seas Foundation offers grants for research, conservation and education projects worldwide, including in Europe, focusing primarily on charismatic threatened wildlife and their habitat, focusing on sharks, skates, and rays.
Its grants can be grouped into three areas: the Keystone Grant, the Small Grant, and the Storytelling Grant. Both the Keystone Grant and the Small Grant focus on supporting research, conservation and education projects. The Storytelling Grant is dedicated to supporting early career and emerging conservation storytellers in the fields of photography and writing.

Procedures to submit proposal
The Ocean Storytelling Photography Grant application process consists of a one-stage online application. The form consists of a few questions and requires submission of a portfolio (20 images) and photo story (10 images).
The Ocean Storytelling Writing Grant application process consists of a one-stage online application. The form consists of a few questions and requires submission of a short feature-style story (max 1000 words).
The Keystone Grant application process consists of a two-stage online application: Stage I involves completing a short online form, equivalent to 4-6 pages. Stage II, by invitation only based on the Stage I application, will involve the completion of a longer and more detailed online form, equivalent to 10-12 pages.
The Small Grant application process consists of a two-stage online application: Stage I involves completing a short online form, equivalent to two pages. Stage II, by invitation only based on the Stage I application, will involve the completion of a longer and more detailed online form, equivalent to a maximum of 10 pages.
