Description

This report focuses on suitable oil spill response (OSR) methods for the Arctic, emphasising the open water environment and excluding coastal and shallow water protection. It highlights three key OSR tools—mechanical recovery, in-situ burning, and dispersants—drawing on the latest data and scientific literature. The report relies on valuable information from the Arctic Council's Emergency Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (EPPR) Working Group, particularly in determining the use of OSR tools in diverse environmental conditions.
