OSPAR Arctic Workshop

This OSPAR Arctic workshop will gather experts and stakeholders to discuss the knowledge and evidence base collected by OSPAR’s Arctic Outcomes Working Group, which will help to inform how OSPAR can enhance protection of the Arctic marine environment in its Maritime Area. At the workshop, we will present key findings from a synthesis of the scientific information and Indigenous Knowledge collected by the Arctic Outcomes Working Group, with a view to explore and have initial discussions on possible future OSPAR measures and actions. Based on these discussions, the Arctic Outcomes Working Group will develop initial proposals in 2024-2025 for possible future OSPAR measures and actions to enhance protection of the Arctic marine environment in the OSPAR Maritime Area, with the aim of their adoption at the OSPAR Ministerial Meeting in 2025.
