Description
OLAMUR (Offshore Low-trophic Aquaculture in Multi-Use scenario Realisation) brings together multi-use low-trophic aquaculture related key sectors to demonstrate sustainable solutions in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. The project ambition is to address and solve key bottlenecks in the development of commercially viable and sustainable low-trophic aquaculture in wind farms and fish farms.
OLAMUR is seeking 5 Associated Regions to showcase the feasibility, replicability and scale-up of the solutions developed in the project.
Objectives:
Successful Associated Regions will be provided technical assistance to deliver roadmaps and plans for low-impact marine aquaculture and multi-purpose use of marine space, addressing possible barriers and showing the feasibility of implementing innovative solutions. The types of activities that can receive financial support are marine spatial planning, low-trophic aquaculture in wind farms, robotics, governance, or carbon-neutral aquaculture.
Eligible applicants:
Areas eligible to be Associated Regions are those who are part of Member States and overseas and Associated Countries to the Horizon Europe Programme. Associated regions can be based both within Europe (i.e. other Mission Basins including the Black Sea / Mediterranean / Atlantic) but also on a wider global basis.
Applicants must be a regional or local organisation, and projects must include a local/regional authority. Countries that cannot participate due to being part of the OLAMUR consortium are: Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium and Italy.
Budget:
Financial support of up to EUR 100 000 per Associated Region
Duration:
Associated Regions project implementation to commence on the 1st of July 2024.
