Description
MAPAMED is a cartographic database containing essential information regarding Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), potential Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs), and sites of significance for marine conservation across the region. The MAPAMED data undergoes validation by all Focal Points for Specially Protected Areas and Biological Diversity (SPA/BD) within the SPA/RAC, the centre that assists the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention in executing the SPA/BD Protocol.
