Description of the funding initiative
The ERDF Northern and Western Regional Programme 2021-2027 focuses on the following priorities:
- Building RD&I capacity in regional public research institutions, accelerating commercialisation of cutting-edge research at regional level, supporting innovation diffusion and strengthening regional innovation ecosystems in line with Ireland's Smart Specialisation Strategy and Regional Enterprise Plans;
- Scaling up investment to improve energy efficiency of residential homes, targeting homeowners in/ at risk of energy poverty;
- An integrated strategic approach to the regeneration of towns using a Town Centres First Framework.
Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants
Eligible beneficiaries include universities, small to medium enterprises, industry groups, community development groups, public bodies (including local authorities, higher education organisations and other State agencies), public bodies responsible for energy efficiency in residential buildings at national, regional or local level, and Local Authorities with primary responsibility for sustainable and integrated urban development and implementation of the Town Centre First policy in the selected towns within the programme area
