Description of the funding initiative

The objective of the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Programme 2021–2027 is to contribute to the sustainable and cohesive socioeconomic development of the Programme regions by helping to make them more competitive and attractive for living, studying, working and visiting. The Programme priorities and objectives are: 

  1. Capacity building and people-to-people cooperation 
  • Other actions to support better cooperation governance (all strands) 
  1. Green, resilient and sustainable development 
  • Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience taking into account eco-system based approaches. 
  • Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution. 
  1. Fair and inclusive society 
  • Promoting the socioeconomic inclusion of marginalised communities, low income households and disadvantaged groups, including people with special needs, through integrated actions, including housing and social services 
  1. Economic potential of tourism and heritage 
  • Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation 

Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants

National, regional and local public authorities as well as public equivalent bodies and NGOs can apply for the Programme in cross border partnerships. Partners may be found at https://latlit.eu/partners/  

Eligible areas in Lithuania are: Klaipėda, Telšiai, Šiauliai, Panevėžys and Utena. For Latvia: Kurzeme, Zemgale, Latgale regions. 

Rules on co-financing

The ERDF can finance a maximum of 75% of the project.  

 

Procedures to submit proposal

The calls for proposals are posted at https://latlit.eu/calls-for-proposals/. Applicants have to submit their project applications electronically via the Joint Electronic Management System (JEMS) at https://jems.latlit.eu/
