Description of the funding initiative

The priorities, objectives and measures for the 2021-2027 funding programme are:  

Priority 1: Research and innovation  

  1. Research and innovaton 
  2. Cross-border research and exchange of specialist knowledge 
  3. Joint pilot actions and solutions in shared research infrastructures and services 
  4. Communication and mobility of female researchers 

Priority 2: Climate and environment  

  1. Climate change adaptation 
  2. Common knowledge base - inventory and data exchange for better preparation for the effects of climate change 
  3. Joint pilot actions and solutions for adaptation to climate change 
  4. Raising awareness and training for adaptation to climate change 
  5. Nature conservation and biodiversity 
  6. Common knowledge base - inventory and data exchange to improve water management 
  7. Joint pilot actions and investments in joint solutions for ecological water management 
  8. Common knowledge base - inventory and data exchange to improve biological diversity 
  9. Joint pilot actions and joint solutions to better protect biological diversity 
  10. Awareness-raising and training measures to increase biological diversity 

Priority 3: Education, Culture and Tourism 

  1. Education and training 
  2. Cross-border cooperation to improve the cross-border educational offerings of kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, universities and vocational schools 
  3. Joint pilot measures and investments to improve cross-border educational offerings in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, universities and vocational schools 
  4. Culture and Tourism 
  5. Cross-border knowledge and data exchange to promote the resilience of the tourism and cultural sector 
  6. Joint pilot actions and investments to promote the resilience of the tourism and culture sector 

Priority 4: Cross-border governance 

  1. Legal and institutional cooperation 
  2. Joint strategy development and exchange of know-how 
  3. Joint pilot actions to remove border barriers 
  4. Networking and cluster activities to reduce administrative and legal obstacles 

Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants

Please consult the FAQ, in Czech and in German.  

Eligible areas are:  

  • Austria: Innviertel, Linz-Wels, Mostviertel-Eisenwurzen, Mühlviertel, Sankt Pölten, Steyr-Kirchdorf, Waldviertel, Weinviertel, Wien, Wiener Umland/Nordteil 
  • Czechia: Jihomoravský kraj, Jihočeský kraj, Kraj Vysočina 

Rules on co-financing

The amount of co-financing from ERDF funds in the Interreg Austria-Czech Republic 2021-2027 program is 80% for all project types. 

 

Procedures to submit proposal

The project application including the budget must be prepared and submitted in German and Czech. It may not be submitted in English. 

Austrian project partner organizations: At least one project partner organization must have its headquarters/competences in the program area. 

Czech project partner organizations: The project partner organizations may be based outside the program area. However, the project must always have a clear influence in the program area and the involvement of project partner organizations outside the program area must be well justified.
