Description
iMERMAID is bringing together smart solutions to prevent and monitor contaminants of emerging concern (CoECs) in the Mediterranean Sea. The project has opened its first call for four Associated Regions, where successful regional and local public authorities located in EU Member States and in Associated Regions can benefit from the technologies developed in the project.
Objectives:
Applicants are invited to propose use cases that address their specific challenges and objectives on the topic of CoECs. Associated Regions will work with the project consortium to demonstrate the feasibility, replicability and scalability of solutions developed in iMERMAID.
Activities that can be funded include: activities to remove contaminants; pollutant monitoring actions; remediation actions for specific pollutants; definition of regional pollutants and required actions for remediation; and dissemination and communication of the activities and results.
Eligible applicants:
Eligible applicants to this first open call are local and/or regional authorities from an Associated Region linked directly or indirectly to the Mediterranean.
Countries that cannot participate due to being part of the iMERMAID consortium are Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, Tunisia, Ukraine.
Budget:
Financial support of EUR 100 000 each for four successful Associated Region.
Duration:
Proposal evaluation and selection will run from September to October 2024, and contracting will happen in November 2024. Project implementation for the Associated Regions will be from December 2024 to August 2025.
