Description of the funding initiative
The EMFAF supports EU common fisheries policy, the EU maritime policy and the EU agenda for international ocean governance. It also helps fulfil the objectives of the European Green Deal.
The Italian EMFAF programme includes the following priorities:
- Promoting sustainable fisheries and the restoration and conservation of aquatic biological resources.
- Promoting sustainable aquaculture activities and the processing and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products, thereby contributing to food security in the EU.
- Promoting a sustainable blue economy in coastal, island and internal regions and promoting the development of fishing and aquaculture communities;
- Strengthening international ocean governance and enabling safe, secure, clean and sustainably managed seas and oceans.
- Technical assistance in accordance with Article 36(4) CPR.
Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants
Eligible applicants need to be legal entities; natural persons are not eligible. Eligibility may vary between each specific funding call.
Rules on co-financing
Co-financing from 50% to 70%. Please refer to the EMFAF Programme details (Italian) for co-financing rules.
Procedures to submit proposal
Every Italian region publishes open calls for proposals on its website.
