Description of the funding initiative
The EMFAF supports EU common fisheries policy, the EU maritime policy and the EU agenda for international ocean governance. It also helps fulfil the objectives of the European Green Deal.
The programme includes the following priorities: fostering sustainable fisheries and the restoration and conservation of aquatic biological resources; fostering sustainable aquaculture activities; strengthening international ocean governance and enabling seas and oceans to be safe, secure, clean and sustainably managed.
Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants
Eligible applicants need to be legal entities; natural persons are not eligible. Eligibility may vary between each specific funding call.
Rules on co-financing
Co-financing up to 70 % of eligible costs.
