Description of the funding initiative
The EMFAF supports EU common fisheries policy, the EU maritime policy and the EU agenda for international ocean governance. It also helps fulfil the objectives of the European Green Deal. The FEAMPA (Le Fonds européen pour les affaires maritimes, la pêche et l’aquaculture) 2021-2027 promotes the following:
- Supporting fishermen transition to sustainable fishing
- Helping the diversification of economic activities in coastal populations
- Finance projects that create jobs and improve the quality of life along the European coast
- Supporting sustainable development and aquaculture
- Supporting the implementation of maritime policy.

Rules on co-financing
Co-financing ranges from 50% to 70%, depending on the objective. Please check the French EMFAF Programme for details.
