Description of the funding initiative
The EMFAF supports EU common fisheries policy, the EU maritime policy and the EU agenda for international ocean governance. It also helps fulfil the objectives of the European Green Deal. The Belgian EMFF programme have the following priorities:
- Priority 1: promoting sustainable fisheries and the restoration and conservation of aquatic biological resource
- Priority 2: promoting sustainable aquaculture activities including processing and marketing
- Priority 3: strengthening the local fishing and aquaculture communities in the Flemish coastal zone, including the opportunity for the Flemish coastal communities to set up a local action group to develop and manage its own strategy to tackle local challenges and opportunities bottom-up.

Rules on co-financing
Co-financing rules differ for each specific objective, but the range from 51.47% to 70%. Please refer to BE EMFAF Programme (Dutch) for details.
