The European Blue Schools towards the ambitious target of UNESCO – Ocean Week 2024

The SHORE, ProBleu and BlueLightS Consortia Coalition, in collaboration with EMSEA, propose a dialogue towards a common commitment to ocean literacy by engaging the Network of European Blue Schools.

By 2025, the initiatives aim to integrate ocean literacy into school curricula, advancing the European Blue Schools Statement to involve countries within the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Baltic basins, as per the UNESCO goals. The coalition will facilitate the involvement of local stakeholders to effectively implement the IOC/UNESCO objectives within the EU Mission framework and its flagship initiatives, thereby contributing to the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) goals. As a Satellite Event of the UN Ocean Decade Conference 2024, registration is not required for attendance.
