Environmental Fund - Slovakia

The Environmental Fund (Enviromentálny Fond) is an independent legal entity headquartered in Bratislava managed by the Ministry of Environment of Slovakia. The fund was established to implement state support for environmental protection and the creation of the environment based on sustainable development principles. It is instrumental in financing projects that adhere to national environmental policies. 

The support covers different themes including nature protection and water protection and use. Nature protection support focuses on activities aimed at the protection of nature, biological diversity and the sustainable use of its components. Water-related support focuses on improving water quality, managing water resources sustainably, and providing emergency responses to water pollution and water-related disasters. The fund's financial assistance can be directed towards activities such as water purification research, infrastructure to prevent water contamination, and educational programs on water conservation.  

Eligible applicants differ depending on the funding call. However, most of the initiatives target local municipalities and non-profit organisations providing public services with an environmental focus. Please refer to a specific funding call to see which conditions apply.
