Description of the funding initiative
The Romanian 2021-2027 EMFAF Programme aims to aims to contribute to: 1) the development of sustainable commercial marine and inland fishing; 2) sustainable and competitive aquaculture that makes efficient use of available resources; 3) the organisation of the fisheries market, including strengthening fisheries organisations and supporting the short marketing chain; and 4) the development of fisheries, highlighting the opportunities offered by the sustainable blue economy.
Overview of eligibility requirements for applicants
Eligibility for funding is call-specific. The main target groups of the Romanian 2021-2027 EMFAF Programme includes fisheries operators, owners/managers of fishing vessels, commercial fishermen, fisheries and/or aquaculture research, training and/or higher education institutions, public authorities who carry out environmental protection actions, the National Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture, aquaculture producers and organisations and their employees, and fisheries and/or aquaculture processing and/or marketing organisations.

Rules on co-financing
Average co-financing rate is 70%. See the EMFAF Programme details.
