EMFAF Programme Bulgaria 2021-2027

Bulgaria’s EMFAF Programme has priorities in the promotion of sustainable fisheries, aquaculture and the blue economy and in strengthening international ocean governance. The financial support will also help manage and extend marine protected areas and to fight against marine litter. The Programme will also contribute to the EU horizontal priorities outlined in the European Green Deal, Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategies.  

32% of the fund is for sustainable fisheries, 40,80% for sustainable aquaculture and processing, 20% for the sustainable blue economy, 1,20% for international ocean governance, and 6% for technical assistance.  

Eligibility is according to the specific objectives of the fund, but includes national, regional and local government bodies, fishing, aquaculture, processing and marketing enterprises, research and academic institutions (including those that provide training), and NGOs.
