Description of the funding initiative
The Programme ERDF/JTF 2021-2027 Saxony focuses on four funding priorities:
- Support the region to become smarter and more competitive thanks to key investments in research and innovation as well as SMEs (ERDF).
- Support the Saxon economy to become greener and less carbon intensive (ERDF).
- Support the Saxon cities in their efforts to adapt to economic, social and demographic challenges and to climate adaptation (ERDF).
- Mitigating the socio-economic consequences of climate change (JTF), with a particular focus on the areas of the Lausitz region, the Central German region and the city of Chemnitz, which will be most affected by the phasing out of lignite mining for electricity generation.
