Description
This calculator computes the revenue gained from including/enhancing the processing of by-catches and provides estimates of the benefits resulting from improved handling. It offers solutions for processing bycatch, sorting, catch storage, and methods to enhance overall handling. In addition to revenue calculations, this tool outlines the corresponding investment costs for each fleet segment based on the proposed solutions. The mentioned by-catch includes fish below the minimum conservation reference size (MCRS), unavoidable unwanted catch (UUC), and viscera & offals. These catches have been examined considering their chemical composition, fishing habits, and fishing stocks for each fleet segment.
