Description

DANUBE4all is looking for 5 Associated Regions for the opportunity to access the project consortium’s expertise, knowledge, and tools to develop their own roadmap, plan, or project to restore freshwater ecosystems in their region.

The ambition of the DANUBE4all project is the development of a strategic Danube Basin Restoration Action Plan. It aims to enhance the free-flowing status of rivers and floodplains, reduce flood and drought risks, and improve sediment and biota continuity through a variety of integrated measures.

Objectives:

The selected Associated Region beneficiaries commit to carry out the following activities:

  • Contribute to three workshops to develop restoration solutions in cooperation with other stakeholders, between 2024 to 2026 to be held in their region.
  • Develop a roadmap by December 2027 of restoration actions for their region to support the replication of DANUBE4all solutions and tools. DANUBE4all partners will provide technical assistance in the development of this roadmap via capacity building, trainings and guidance on structure and content.

Eligible applicants:

Local and/or regional authorities from Member States and associated countries to the Horizon Europe Programme are eligible. Countries that cannot participate due to being part of the DANUBE4all consortium are: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, United Kingdom. NGOs are not eligible.

Budget:

The grant each associated region can apply for is up to EUR 100 000.

Duration:

Project implementation started in October 2023 and project end is on 31 December 2027.
