Calling all digital twinning projects: an exciting opportunity in the European marine digital ecosystem

Edito-Infra

EDITO-Infra has launched a Call for Expressions of Interest from digital twinning projects & initiatives in Europe, to integrate with the EDITO platform.

About EDITO

A Digital Twin of the Ocean is a virtual representation of all marine and coastal environments around the globe. It gives access to real-time and historical observations from thousands of sensors across the world ocean, as well as numerous satellites in space.

The European Commission launched the European Digital Twin of the Ocean in 2022. The aim of the initiative is to make ocean information readily available to all – international policymakers, national governments, researchers, innovators, businesses, entrepreneurs, activists, and citizens.

EDITO-Infra is the 2-year project that will build the public infrastructure backbone for EDITO by integrating key data service components and by sharing cloud processing capabilities and software into a single digital framework.

About the Call

Edito-Infra is looking for innovative projects and initiatives that demonstrate the potential of digital twinning in the marine domain. The most promising applications will be showcased at the third edition of the Digital Ocean Forum, taking place on 12-13 June 2024 in Brussels.
