About this exhibition
This year’s European Research and Innovation Exhibition showcases 45 projects that are paving the way to achieve the EU Missions’ goals.
Five panoramas showcase projects working towards achieving each of the EU’s five Missions (Climate, Cancer, Ocean, Cities, Soil). Each project has a short summary, multimedia content, and links to more information.
Imagine smart and climate-neutral cities, a green and resilient environment. Think of pollution-free seas and inland waters, of healthy and sustainable soils. Expect a world with better understanding, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. EU Missions aim to bring concrete solutions to some of our greatest challenges by 2030, by putting research and innovation into a new role, combining it with new forms of governance and engagement with citizens.

There are also links to an even more extensive collection of projects from the 2021 exhibition.
Here you can also find out more about the Commission’s vision for the future of EU research and innovation, a gallery that collects all the projects in one place, and a dedicated space for games to test your knowledge of the stories presented here.
What is European Research and Innovation?
Science and technology touch almost every part of our daily lives. The food we eat, the healthcare we receive, the environments we live in, how we work, travel and play: the list is endless! This is why the European Union helps scientists, researchers and innovators from across Europe to work together. By working together we can achieve more.
