ICT solution: Floating solar technologies 

The Federal Public Service, Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment of Belgium aims to develop new solutions for offshore solar energy in the Belgian part of the North Sea. The ICT innovation would allow multi-use of space and sensor use for a robust floating solar solution to achieve efficient and effective energy production.

This project is currently in the preparatory stage. The needs assessment and the State-of-the-Art (SOTA) analysis have been completed. An Open Market Consultation for the Public Procurement of Innovative solutions (PPI) of Offshore eVTOL Drones has been published (Oct 2025).
