The Valorisation Programme is developed by THRIVE Institute for aspirational PhD researchers who want to boost the societal impact their research can have in local communities in the Netherlands and abroad. PhD researchers and their environment are a rich resource for promising societal, technical and business innovation. However, PhD researchers generally need tailor-made coaching to take their promising concepts, ideas and knowledge to impactful services or start-ups. The Valorisation Program offers the practical guidance and tools they need. This approach to valorisation entails every step - big and small - that adds value to the research: from giving a free public lecture to starting a commercial business.
The program has helped Dutch PhD researchers take this step by taking their research outside of the theoretical realm and into practice.
