PATLIB is a network currently comprising 322 centres, mostly hosted by chambers of commerce, universities, and patent offices. Almost 40% of them are university-based (see Fig. 1 below). The EPO has supported and fostered the PATLIB network since 1988.
The Centres offer advice and services based on IP to customers such as local SMEs, research organisations, and individual innovators. They aim to assist customers in transforming their research results and scientific knowledge into practical applications and solutions.
