Intellectual property rights (IPRs) are important for technology transfer, technology commercialization. A series of case studies from different regions in Europe, in a wide range of industries and innovation ecosystems, reveals how innovators can make better use of the IP system for value creation. They showcase that companies:

  • can benefit and create value from IPRs, such as patents, and support their business strategy
  • need to have or acquire expertise in using IPRs to maximize value
  • can benefit from the Unitary Patent and the Unified Patent Court
