Considering the critical role that narrative plays in knowledge transfer and valorisation ecosystems—telling compelling stories about technologies and innovations—more attention should be paid to methodologies from the humanities that are highly developed in terms of narrative construction. This best practice focuses on the specific storytelling techniques of metaphor and animation. The result of this practice was a series of 15 animated videos for use in a “Toolkit on New Product Development and Inventions in the Public Domain,” sponsored by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for use within the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs).
