Mutual Learning Exercise on Research Careers

The foundation for a strong and competitive research and innovation system is constituted by researchers. Europe now boasts 2 million researchers, and it is crucial to ensure their careers remain attractive across all sectors of society. 

In response, following the European Commission's proposal on 13 July 2023, the Council adopted the Council Recommendation on a European framework to attract and retain research, innovation, and entrepreneurial talents on 18 December 2023. This includes a new Charter for Researchers to enhance working conditions.

Mutual Learning Exercise on Bridging the gap between Science and Policy

Science plays a crucial role in helping policymakers understand and address complex policy and societal challenges. It aids in evaluating policy alternatives and devising evidence-based solutions. Support to Czechia on its reforms of the Technology Transfer Offices sector

The objective of the PSF review is to provide external advice and operational recommendations to the country's authorities on reforming the Czech technology transfer offices (TTOs) sector, taking into account internationally proven good practice. 

The recommendations will be backed by evidence, best practice and analyses of similar approaches and reforms introduced in other countries and it should be feasible to implement them in the national context.

Third thematic report - Mission-oriented funding and instrument synergies

This report explores challenges and best practices for financing EU missions and combining them with other policies. It examines specific funding needs, explores synergies between policies, and shares practical examples from an MLE participant survey and a visit to Stockholm, Sweden.

Additionally, it analyses a survey on mission governance in 18 countries and summarises discussions from the inaugural MLE meeting in Vienna on 28-29 September 2023.
