A total budget of circa €130 million was available under different 2016-17 Horizon 2020 Work Programmes to support groups of procurers that joined forces to implement joint cross-border Pre-Commercial Procurements (PCP) or Public Procurements for Innovative Solutions (PPI) (see here for current and upcoming funding opportunities in the field of research and innovation).
The European Commission collected data from key public procurers with potential interest in procuring new innovative solutions during the previous years. The results helped the EC to prioritise these needs over the years to come, in view of allocating funding for calls under the Horizon 2020 Work Programme (2018 – 2020).
