Dial-a-ship: a worldwide fleet for ocean science
Marine research is essential to understanding our planet and climate change. Yet exploring the ocean can be difficult, dangerous and expensive. The EU-funded EurofleetsPlus project sought to accelerate marine research by providing scientists in Europe and beyond with access to a fleet of 27 state-of-the-art research vessels.

Arctic models to inform North Hemisphere weather forecasts
What warming of the Arctic will mean for ecosystems and communities inside the Arctic and the Northern Hemisphere is uncertain. An EU-funded project aims to better describe, model and predict climate extremes in the region and to develop more accurate long-term forecast systems for the Northern Hemisphere.

An integrated observing system for the Atlantic Ocean
Buoys, floats, moorings and research vessels, to name just a few examples - data about the state of the Atlantic is collected by a number of means. And by a profusion of actors, who could jointly produce even better results if they applied a common strategy. EU-funded researchers are driving the development of an integrated system.
